Adding Images Dadooda makes it really easy for you to add images to your Article or Images item type. Within the Article or Images template, every image has its own field, with an associated caption field. So you simply use the Image 1 Browse button to locate the file for the first image you want to add. Then you use the Image 2 Browse button for the second image and so on up to Image 5 for an Article or up to Image 20 for an Images item type. You can add the captions as you go, or go back and add them after you’ve added all your image files. The advantage of this method is that you can change the images or their captions as often as you wish within the template before you upload them. Only when you are satisfied with your choice of images and their captions do you need to upload them. Moreover, all your images are then uploaded in one session, along with all the other elements of your item. Even then, you can go back and change the images and captions by using Dadooda's powerful edit function before you finally publish your item. To make it even easier, we recommend you copy the images you wish to add to your item to a temporary folder and if necessary that you resize them (see below) before starting to add them to your template. You can always delete the temporary folder after you have uploaded the item.
Images used on websites such as Dadooda are displayed in a much lower resolution (smaller size) than the high resolution mega-pixel images which many digital cameras are capable of recording today. So, if you want to publish a high resolution image on Dadooda it has to be reduced in size to fit the space allotted to it. This resizing of an image can be performed by Dadooda after you have uploaded the image, or you can resize your image before you upload it. If you want to use images with a resolution higher than 1280x960 pixels we recommend that whenever possible you resize them (see below) before adding them to your Images or Article item type. Ideally, your images should be resized to the following dimensions before you add them to your Images or Article item type and upload them: Landscape mode: 800x600 pixels However, images with the VGA standard dimension of 640x480 (or 480x640) pixels as commonly used for sending images via email will produce excellent results.
If you used a digital camera to capture your images, it is likely they will have a resolution much greater than the 800x600 we recommend. If you have software that can resize your image and you are adept at using it, resizing your images to 800x600 will be a familiar process to you. If you don’t have any such software but use Microsoft Windows XP
you may wish to consider Microsoft Windows XP Image Resizer, available
as a free download from Microsoft at the following address: Once you have downloaded and installed the program, resizing your images is extremely simple. 1. Open the folder containing the image(s) you wish to add to your Images
or Article item type.
