| Setting up a maxiPAL | |
| Setting up a maxiPAL is a simple, quick process. However, there are two important things you need to know before you start. First, you must be a member of Dadooda to set up a maxiPAL. Second, every maxiPAL must nominate a Librarian who is responsible for organising it and for making any payments due. When you set up a maxiPAL you are by default its first Librarian. To set up a maxiPAL, simply log in to Dadooda as usual and select MY PAL. Then choose the menu item Set Up a New maxiPAL. You need to enter or confirm just three pieces of information. 1. A name for your maxiPAL You can choose a fun or formal name for your maxiPAL, depending on its purpose. However, we recommend you consider a name that other members of the maxiPAL will recognise or identify with. The name must be between 6 and 30 characters. You can change it at any time. 2. Your Librarian username As the Librarian of your maxiPAL you must choose a username by which you will be known to other members of the maxiPAL. You can use your Dadooda username or choose a different username exclusively for use within the maxiPAL. For example, you may have an anonymous or cryptic Dadooda username, but would prefer to be known to members of your maxiPAL by your real name, or something appropriate to the purpose of your maxiPAL, such as Club Secretary or The Boss! Your Librarian username must be between 6 and 30 characters. You can change it any time. Entering a different Librarian username will NOT change your Dadooda username. 3. Your Librarian contact email address As the Librarian of your maxiPAL you must provide an email address which other members of your maxiPAL can use to contact you. Also, Dadooda will send a copy of most emails you generate by your actions as Librarian to this address. You can use the same email address you provided when you registered with Dadooda or provide a different email address exclusively for use within the maxiPAL. You can change your Librarian contact email address at any time. Entering a different Librarian contact email address will NOT change the email address which forms part of your Dadooda registration details. When you’ve completed the above, just click on the Set Up maxiPAL button. It really is that easy! Once you maxiPAL has been set up we recommend you familiarise yourself with the Librarian Menu options and undertake the following tasks before you invite other people to join your maxiPAL. Task 1 Select menu item Display Profile and review the details of your maxiPAL, just to make sure you entered them as intended. Task 2 Select menu item Update Profile to edit the details of your maxiPAL if necessary, or to add further information about it for other members to see. Task 3 Select menu item Manage Subjects to create your very own library classification system with up to 6 Subject Groups each containing up to 10 Subjects. You can now start inviting other people to join your maxiPAL. Just select menu item Invite Members to Join. All you have to do is enter the email addresses of the people you want to invite and Dadooda takes care of the rest! Now your maxiPAL is up and running and you and the other members can start uploading items to create your very own multimedia library! Related Links: |
