Price plans

The Individual plan requires all members of a PAL to pay their own annual subscription direct to Dadooda.

The Group plan enables blocks of Membership Credits (minimum of 5) to be purchased for a single annual subscription at a 40 per cent discount to the Individual plan subscription.

Frequently asked questions about PAL charges and price plans

Q: Who decides which price plan to use?

A: The choice of which plan to use is decided by the Dadooda member who sets up the PAL.

Q: What are membership credits?

A: Membership credits are purchased with a Group price plan. The number of credits purchased represents the maximum number of members the PAL can have at any time. In effect, one credit equals one member. There is no time limit for using the credits.

Q: How many membership credits should I buy?

A: You’ll need one credit for yourself and one for every other person you will invite to join your PAL. It’s a good idea to have a small number in reserve. Bear in mind a credit is only used up when a person accepts your invitation to join your PAL.

Q: Can you buy extra membership credits?

A: Yes - at any time after you set up your PAL, subject to a minimum purchase of 5 credits. The price you pay is calculated daily on a pro rata basis according to the number of days remaining in your current subscription year, but is subject to a minimum payment of £2.00.

Q: What happens if a member leaves a PAL with a Group price plan?

A: The PAL gets the leaver’s credit back. Effectively it can be used to invite another person to join the PAL.

Q: Can you switch between Individual and Group price plans?

A: At present this is not possible but we hope to provide this option in a later release.

Q: Are there any other charges?

A: No. The annual subscription is the only charge.

Q: Who pays the Group price plan annual subscriptions?

A: The Dadooda member who sets up the PAL has to pay the first annual subscription to activate the PAL. Thereafter, the current Organiser (miniPAL) or Librarian (maxiPAL) is responsible for paying the annual subscription.

Q: Can the Group price plan subscriptions be shared by all PAL members?

A: It is not feasible for us to collect Group price plan subscriptions from more than one member because of the small sums involved. The arrangement for sharing Group price plan costs amongst members is something each PAL must decide and action independently.

Q: What payment methods can be used?

A: At present we can only accept payment via PayPal. You can pay by credit card via PayPal.

Q: How do you know when an Individual price plan subscription is due to be paid?

A: Your first annual subscription is payable when you accept an invitation to join a PAL. Thereafter the subscription is due on the anniversary of the set up date.

Q: Can a PAL keep track of payments made and due?

A: Yes. The Organiser (miniPAL) or Librarian (maxiPAL) has access to all the information and functions needed to maintain the PAL, including a record of payments made.

Q: Is it possible to switch between a miniPAL and a maxiPAL?

A: We regret not. They are different products and you cannot convert one to the other.
